6. Girl Talk - Feed the Animals
I was really afraid Gillis was going to back to his glitched-out, barely listenable stuff, but he didn’t disappoint. He followed up his breakout album with another monster of a pop culture pastiche. The heights of Night Ripper are matched and surpassed. The “holy fuck” moments come at a faster pace. The album even has a neat structure, coming full circle on UGK’s “Int’l Players Anthem.” Gillis has again shown his superiority to all mashup artists, producing something far and above what anyone has accomplished in the genre. Sorry, Too Many DJs, but you have yet to give me anything nearly as good as “No Diggity” over “Flashing Lights,” and I doubt anyone ever will.
