8. Detektivbyrån - Wermland
This is the band that made me first think, hey, I think there’s something good happening in Sweden. Accordian, vibraphones, glockenspeils, and every other music box instrument swirl and arpeggiate around marching band and glitch beats. It’s like old world folk songs, Beirut’s debut, and the Amelie soundtrack. Not exactly party music and maybe even something you’d be embarassed to be caught listening to. But dammit, it’s great.
