20. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!
Last year Cave got nasty with his side project, Grinderman. Back with the Bad Seeds, the truly scariest man in rock music brought back the nasty with him. Squealing organs and howling guitars screech across many of the songs. He invokes imagery of revival preachers and snake oil salesmen and is the darkest he’s been since Murder Ballads. I love the return of the Cave who you think might murder you and hope he’s here to stay.
