31. The Explorers Club - Freedom Wind
Since the sixties there’s been several bands aping Brian Wilson’s style. However, there are none that have done it as whole-heartedly as The Explorers Club. They create spot-on Beach Boys songs, down to the chugging rhythm section, the multi-part falsetto harmonies, as the teenage love lyrics. Yet, through a combination of sincerity (ignore the annoyingly tongue-in-cheek video above) and stellar songwriting, it’s almost as enjoyable as a newly discovered lost Beach Boys album.
