For everyone in Astoria freaked out about the MTA cutting the W: CHILL.
As part of the changes, the N is going Local in Manhattan and the Q is going to run to Astoria. So, during most hours, Astoria, your service will actually run more often - one of the strange paradoxes of MTA service cuts.
As for those of you who head uptown from the 2nd Avenue stop on the F/V - well, you’re screwed. The V is being rerouted and will stop at Broadway/Lafayette and Essex Street (on the J) in Lower Manhattan. So you’ll have to cram yourselves onto an F train that just got in from Brooklyn.
For Astoria residents.

That’s fine, at least until the 2nd Ave subway opens up, as that is to be an extension of the Q. But chances of me still being here when it opens up: low.
