Top Albums of the 2000s

20. Robyn - Robyn

Seems recently every year we see several amazing pop songs.  However, very few great pop albums.  The best of the past decade, such as Nelly Furtado’s Loose and Rihanna’s Good Girl Gone Bad are each about 1/3 filler.  That is not the case with Robyn’s self-titled 2005 comeback.  Robyn hit it big in the 90s internationally with the very mainstream single “Show Me Love.”  Then, in 2004, she took control of her own career.  She brought in producers she liked and created songs influenced by esoteric groups like The Knife as much as what was on MTV.  The result hit it big everywhere but the U.S.  While she has not regained her American fame, she has done the one thing no other pop act this decade has been able to do: create a front-to-back great pop album.  Other highlights: “Who’s That Girl,” “Handle Me,” “Bum Like You”
