Dirty Projectors - “Cannibal Resource”
I first heard Dirty Projectors in 2004 on Slaves’ Graves and Ballads, an absolutely beautiful and haunting record. However, his next few releases, including a concept album about Don Henley, were bizarre and fairly unlistenable. Color me pleasantly surprised with this new stuff. If the rest of the new album is as good as “Cannibal Resource,” then the journey was worth it. The same kind of pop-out-of-cacauphony effect we saw in Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.
