An encounter I had with a crazy woman
Last weekend I saw a very normal looking woman light a cigarette with a flaming napkin, then throw the still very much aflame napkin on the ground as if it were a match. Brian's Toppest 50 Albums of 2010
Well, certainly wasn’t the best year for music overall. I quite possibly listened to more albums than any previous year, but the quality of albums that made my list feels much lower than usual. Nonetheless, the top few albums on the list are so damn good. Both Kanye and Sufjan released hugely original and ambitious albums. The Naked and Famous and Robyn both made near-perfect pop records....

They should have called this “14 Actors Acting SO HARD” because everyone is acting SO HARD. This is so weird. My favorite ones are James Franco cruising himself and Tilda Swinton portraying a crying alien (that was what she was going for, right?).
WatchVBS.TV, Vice Magazine’s video arm, is consistently brilliant. And it has much less of the often-annoying snark of its parent publication. VBS is one of the most daring, independent-minded, eye-opening journalism outfits out there. And now they have a show on MTV which, believe it or not, has not lost any of the site’s edge or brilliance. Here’s a terrific piece on Yemen.
